Saryu Ghat Evening Aarti & Holy Bath in Ayodhya: Timings & Ritual Guide
The Sacred Waters of Maa Saryu
The Holy River Saryu holds a deeply emotional place in the Ramayana. Originating from the sacred Mansarovar lake in the Himalayas, the Saryu bore witness to the childhood pastimes of Lord Rama, his royal coronation, and his eventual ascension to his eternal abode (Vaikuntha).
Taking the Holy Snan at Naya Ghat
Pilgrims traditionally take a purifying dip in the cool, flowing waters of the Saryu at Naya Ghat and Guptar Ghat. Proper changing rooms and safety chains are maintained by the municipal administration along the paved embankments.
Ram Ki Paidi & Evening Maha Aarti
Every evening at dusk, Ram Ki Paidi illuminates with thousands of lights and laser projections. Priests perform the grand Saryu Maha Aarti with multi-tiered camphor lamps accompanied by conch sounds, creating a scene of divine tranquility reminiscent of the Varanasi riverfront.
