Planning the Perfect 3-Day Pilgrimage to Varanasi
A pilgrimage to Kashi requires a balanced itinerary that captures its holy temples, eternal ghats, cultural heritage, and spiritual depth without causing fatigue. Here is our field-tested 3-day itinerary designed for families and devotees.
Day 1: Divine Blessings & The Eternal River
- Morning: Early morning holy bath in the Ganges at Dashashwamedh or Assi Ghat followed by darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga and Maa Annapurna Temple.
- Afternoon: Rest and enjoy an authentic satvik Banarasi lunch (kachori, poori sabzi, and chilled thandai).
- Evening: Witness the world-famous evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat from a private boat.
Day 2: City Temples & Sarnath Buddhist Excursion
- Morning: Darshan at Kaal Bhairav Temple (the spiritual protector of Kashi), followed by Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple and Durga Kund.
- Afternoon: Excursion to Sarnath (10 km): Visit the Dhamek Stupa where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon, Mulagandha Kuti Vihara, and the Archaeological Museum housing India’s National Emblem (Lion Capital of Ashoka).
- Evening: Stroll through the heritage weavers’ lane to witness authentic Banarasi silk saree handloom weaving.
Day 3: Subah-e-Banaras & Historic Ghats Exploration
- Dawn: Experience Subah-e-Banaras at Assi Ghat with Vedic chanting and morning boat ride covering Harishchandra, Man Mandir, and Scindia Ghats.
- Late Morning: Visit BHU (Banaras Hindu University) and the New Vishwanath Temple (Birla Temple).
- Afternoon/Evening: Relish famous street foods like Tamatar Chaat at Kashi Chaat Bhandar and Blue Lassi before departure transfers.
