Triveni Sangam: The King of All Sacred Waters

Known in the scriptures as Teerthraj (the King of all Pilgrimages), Prayagraj is sanctified by the mystical confluence of three sacred rivers: the muddy white waters of the Ganges, the deep calm blue-green of the Yamuna, and the subterranean invisible Saraswati.

Experiencing the Confluence Snan by Boat

To reach the exact confluence point where the two visible waters meet, pilgrims hire wooden boats from the Sangam Ghats (Qila Ghat or VIP Ghat). Floating wooden platforms in mid-river allow devotees to safely step down and perform their holy dip while priests assist with Sankalp and floral offerings.

Bade Hanuman Ji (Lete Hue Hanuman Mandir)

Situated adjacent to the historic Akbar Fort, this underground temple enshrines a colossal 20-foot idol of Lord Hanuman in a unique reclining (lying down) posture. Every year during the monsoon, the swollen waters of the Ganges enter the sanctum to perform the holy bath (Charnamrit) of the deity before receding.
