The highlight of this shrine is the world-renowned Bhasma Aarti, conducted every morning from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM using sacred ash.

How to Book Bhasma Aarti Passes

Bhasma Aarti permission requires advance registration via the official Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee portal. Passes open around 30 to 45 days in advance and fill up within minutes. A limited quota of offline tokens is available at the temple counters a day prior for early-morning queueing pilgrims.

Mandatory Dress Code for Bhasma Aarti Sanctum

• For Men: Traditional unstitched white or saffron cotton/silk Dhoti and Kurta/Angavastram (strictly no trousers or stitched jeans allowed into the Nandi Hall).
• For Women: Traditional Indian Saree (salwar suits or western clothes are barred from the inner sanctum during aarti).
