Kaal Bhairav Temple: Rituals & Significance

Located in Visheshwarganj, this ancient shrine enshrines the silver-faced deity adorned with garlands of marigolds and holding a trident. Key rituals include:

• Bhairav Raksha Sutra: Priests tie a blessed black sacred thread (Ganda) around devotees’ wrists to protect against negative energies and evil eyes.
• Kashidanda Ritual: Gentle symbolic blessing with a peacock feather fan or stick to dissolve past karmic debts.
• Offerings: Mustard oil lamps, black sesame, and traditional offerings are commonly presented.

Sankat Mochan Temple: The Sanctuary of Faith

Established by Goswami Tulsidas, the revered author of the Ramcharitmanas, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple is nestled near the Assi riverbank. Devotees flock here every Tuesday and Saturday to recite the Hanuman Chalisa and offer the famous red bespoke Besan Laddoos. The atmosphere here is deeply peaceful, with lush trees and sacred monkeys roaming freely.
