Mandatory Biometric Registration & Medical Fitness

All pilgrims travelling to Kedarnath must complete mandatory registration through the official Uttarakhand Tourism portal (uttarakhandtourism.gov.in) to receive their Yatra E-Pass. Pilgrims above 50 years or with cardiovascular history are strongly advised to undergo health checkups prior to ascent.

Helicopter Services vs The 16 km Trek

• By Helicopter: Official helicopter flights operate from Phata, Guptkashi, and Sirsi to Kedarnath helipad (approx. 7–10 minute flight time). Booking must be done strictly via the official IRCTC HeliYatra portal.
• By Trek: The trek begins from Gaurikund and spans approximately 16 to 18 km along a scenic mountain pathway. Ponies (khachhar), palanquins (doli), and basket porters (pitthu) are available at government-regulated rates.
